Have you ever flown with 2 very talkative toddlers? 7000 questions, a few potty breaks, a gigantic Costco size bag of gummy snacks and ants in pants. The flight was just long enough from Memphis to Orlando for us to reach cruising altitude and then land and my kids were EVERYWHERE. It was so fast, and I was very grateful. Jack was an angel, really he was. He was so excited to fly on an airplane. Especially with his new Lightning suitcase as an escort. Tater on the other hand? He never sat still. We thought that a midday flight with...

Before our recent Disney World trip we made a decision to skip Harry Potter World at Universal. I had made peace with the fact the boys were too young to fully enjoy Harry Potter and decided to save that for a later trip. However, I had a hankering for some butterbeer. I tried a few hot recipes ( it's October in Mississippi, hot drinks are a no go), a few that involved ice cream (too filling). Eventually I gave up and decided to make my own. This butterbeer isn't heavy like most butterbeer recipes I have tried. And with the option...

This past Sunday the 4 of us struck out in search of some fun before another busy week began. Zoo was our first choice but that quickly changed when we found out the fair was in town! Maybe it's my granny in me but I absolutely adore the fair! In the south, it's the first sure sign that fall is on the way.  Seeing all the people who worked so hard on entering quilts, jams and crafts makes my heart sing. The boys were in it solely for the rides and frozen bananas dipped in chocolate.   Jack begged to take some...

[gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="2344,2343"] If you had told me when we got engaged that 4 years later we would be parents to 2 boys spaced 2 years and 11 days apart I would of laughed you out of our engagement party while attempting to distract myself with my new bling and zero responsibilities. We always knew we wanted children and after dating for FOREVER (kidding, honey) we knew we didn't want to wait too long. But 2...

At Two Bits our summers are very busy but occasionally we get a chance to sneak away to our second favorite city, St. Louis. John's parents were both born and raised in the city and my dad's family moved all over the midwest growing up so we love showing our boys their Missouri roots. Our weekend getaways in St. Louis are normally packed with old favorites and sprinkled with new adventures and this time was no different! Here's our guide for how we do our home away from home with 2 littles in tow. Our hotel of choice this time was the newly...

John first introduced me to this way of frying fish when we were still dating and it pretty much convinced me he was the one. We gathered our family recently and fried up a bunch. Added to the mix was homemade hushpuppies with chopped jalapeños, a tangy and creamy tartar sauce and coleslaw good enough to slap your mama. (Do NOT slap your mama, she gave you life.) Instead of using the ubiquitous egg wash, beer batter combo John makes this catfish by first dredging it in a combo of hot sauce and plain ol' yellow mustard and coating it with Zatarain's Crispy...

Having a little one in the summer is hard and summer here in Mississippi lasts from late April to Early October. It was almost 75 degrees on Christmas Day last year. Needless to say, we have had a ton of practice keeping babies cool in the heat.  Both of my boys were 3 months old when it started getting surface of the sun hot outside and finding products to help keep them comfy during the dog days of summer was important. Here are our top 10 products for making the summer enjoyable inside and out for baby!   A lightweight baby...
